Blogging Goals// 2015

It's 2015 now. Fresh year and fresh new starts for everyone!
The Bats & Rabbits blog made some big steps forward in 2014 and I hope to make even more in 2015. Here are some of the goals I plan to meet this year when it comes to blogging.

Move To Wordpress/Blog Redesign

I announced in a post not too long ago that I plan to move this blog onto Wordpress with my own domain. It was a tough decision and there is still a small part of me that is apprehensive but, I thought it was time to make a more serious move. The advantages of Wordpress appealed to me as well as having my blog have a ".com" rather than a ".blogspot.com" I obviously still have not made the move yet but the plans are set and I will be sure to let you all know and invite you over there when the site is finished. Speaking of which, I also plan to design the new blog with help from a friend ( who is far superior at coding than I am). I am in love with the "minimal" look my current design has but I also have a barren sidebar and poor navigation to get to past posts. I would like to change that on the new platform and continue to make my blog a desirable looking site to visit

Network More

In 2014 I began to grasp the importance of social media and networking when it comes to blogging. Its not always about what you know, its about who you know. I discovered how Twitter is an amazing resource and hub for bloggers to connect. 2014 was actually the first year I ever started using Twitter. Still getting used to it but I love joining in with blogger chats when I can. There really is such a great community out there. All I have to do is reach out more.

Continue to Improve Photography Skills

2014, I finally invested in a nice DSLR, learned the basics of it and continued to learn from there. I am proud of the way my photos looked in 2014. I think it was a huge step up from where I was before. I also saved up all my pennies from my retail job to buy a Macbook Air ( which I am in love with). Along with the computer I also got Photoshop which I learned the very bare bone basics through practice and the photography class I took during my fall semester. But in 2015, I want to further those skills from the physical shooting to the editing process afterwards. There is still a lot I can improve upon. I also would like to invest in some other lenses other than my kit lens this year.

Create More Diverse Content

In 2015 I want to expand my blog's content. In 2014 I focused a lot on purely beauty reviews which are still going to be around ( not to worry). However, I want to experiment with more style posts, advice, and all around a little bit more lifestyle in general. I would love to interact with you more in 2015 and gather feedback so I can also create content you would like to see.

Do any of you have blogging resolutions? Let me know in the comments below!
I can't wait to grow The Bats & Rabbits blog in 2015!

Tomorrow though, I will be heading off on a little vacation with my mom in Florida! I presume that I will be very active on my Instagram documenting my adventures there. I hope you all are doing well. See you soon!

  2. Have fun on your vacation! These are a lot like my goals. However, I'm still a blogspot girl after all these years (maybe someday). Side note: You can use .com for your site still using blogger, but given that you have a coding friend, she'll probably have a lot more fun with wordpress.

And do update with new things you learn with DSLR editing-- I'm working on getting better as well!
