Covering Your Bases // Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

Hello all! 

As you might have seen in my previous post, I mentioned a new foundation that has entered my life that I have been quite enjoying. The Too Faced Born This Way Foundation ( trying desperately not to break out into the song with the same title while typing this..). This foundation has become a great little base for the autumn/fall season. The focus of very dewy and glowing sun kissed skin becomes a little more subdued in the Fall and Winter. Interests shift to more dramatic and glam looks for the eyes and lips. This is one of those foundations that is getting quite a bit of hype on the internet. I can't help it but be curious and really put it to the test to see if it lives up to the standard that has been created for it. After using it for two and a half months now I have a few thoughts to share about this product.

Lets get down the nitty gritty rundown shall we.. 


Packaging// Design 

Too Faced went with a slightly more traditional approach with their packaging for Born This Way with glass packaging and pump applicator. However, that never goes unappreciated. The pump is easy to use and does not dispense too much product. The frosted glass packaging is cute but may be difficult to travel with. The gold lettering used on the product is also a nice touch. Aside from it being glass I think Too Faced made great choices with its packaging by keeping it practical but also sticking to their cute branding which they are partly known for. 

Color Range// 

When first released there were12 shades starting from Porcelain described to suit fair skin with pink-neutral undertones to the shade Caramel described to suit deep/tan skin with neutral to golden undertones. There were quite a lot of people to be left out of the initial release who had very fair skin ( since the lightest shade still ran a bit dark) and also to those who have much deeper skin. Cries were heard and Too Faced answered by recently releasing two new paler shades; Snow and Pearl, and four new deeper shades; Mocha, Maple, Chestnut and Mahogany. I really appreciate that Too Faced brought out more shades so that more people are able to try and use this foundation. Just as I was typing up this review I was aware that you could only purchase new shades on Too Faced.com but I am pleased to inform that now all 17 shades are up on Sephora's website. I am still unsure if they have hit the brick and mortar stores but still ( hooray!). Personally,  I find the shade Porcelain to be pretty satisfactory for me, though I am curious how the shade Pearl would suit me since I do fall slightly into the category of the "ghost skin" club. 

Application//
When pumped out into the hand this foundation appears to be on the thicker side, meaning it does not slip and slide quickly on the hand. When actually applied to the face you can already get a feel for the coverage but it applies very smoothly. As always when it comes to foundation I cannot stop using my trusty beauty blender. I barely remember the last time I used a brush for applying foundation. Not that a brush is bad, I just love the refreshing feeling of the beauty blender. When dampened with cool water and just pouncing the sponge onto the skin feels so nice. I do like to take my time to really blend this foundation in since it is a full coverage foundation but as I said before I find this foundation to apply really smoothly and easily onto the skin. On a second note this foundation also has no scent which may be good for more sensitive skin types. 

Coverage//

Now, as I have mentioned this foundation is a full coverage foundation so for those who prefer really light coverage will not suit this foundation. I do find that it can be build-able without looking too heavy. I have some acne scarring on my cheeks that are a bugger to cover up and one of the reasons I prefer a higher coverage foundation so I can smooth out the redness and texture that remains on my skin. After creating one layer I get pretty great coverage but I usually add a light second layer to those troubled areas. All of that only requires about a pump and a half of product.  


Overall Thoughts// 

My overall thoughts on this foundation. I think it has become a great staple for the fall and winter months. I would call the finish mostly matte ( but not flat and dry looking) and normally I prefer a more dewy finish, but thats when I pick up my powder highlighter and go to town. Of which anyone could certainly add a more glowy primer beforehand or liquid highlighter into the mix to also achieve a more glowing appearance ( like the new Becca Backlight Primer or one of their liquid illuminators for example). That aside my conclusions to this foundation are as follows : Its long lasting on the skin which is probably one of the bigger pros to this product with me and battling against winter skin. Scarves, environmental elements like wind and snow and cold make wearing certain foundations difficult as it tends to break down a lot more ( at least that is what I notice I am not quite sure why that is.) I have not yet seen how this will last during a blizzardy day but that day I am sure is quickly approaching being from New England. However, I have given it the "really long day at work test" and it passes with relatively high marks. When I get back in my car to go home or when I am on break I usually check to make sure I don't look like a hot mess with foundation breakage and or any other makeup mishaps. Foundation wise at least this one passes the grade by lasting on the skin without moving around too much at all. Second conclusion is that I think this foundation suits a nice and large audience. Its a crowd pleaser from its packaging to its performance  People want something that is going to look great/flawless without feeling heavy or mask like on the skin but  they want something that will last through a very long day without major touch ups. People want something with skin benefits and that isn't going to break them out. And they want something that can fit most skin types. I think that this foundation fits a lot of that. Because is is lighter weight on the skin, it is a great full coverage, it does last long throughout the day, it has coconut water infused in the formula to help hydrate the skin but is oil free which makes it less likely to cause breakouts. And I lastly I think with its edits in color selection and the formula it would suit a lot of skin types. If you are severely dry I might use a hydrating primer or mist. If you are severely oily I would use perhaps a bit of a mattifying primer where you find yourself most oily. 
The Too Faced Born This Way Foundation gets a high mark in my book I would recommend it if you happen to be in the market for a new foundation. Remember, you can always ask for a sample if you are close to a Sephora location. You can test out pretty much any foundation you may be slightly on the fence about before buying it full size.

Covering Your Bases // It Cosmetics Illuminating CC Cream Review

 Today I am reviewing It Cosmetics Illuminating CC cream
There are a few of you who remember my last "Covering Your Bases" post which was all about the Hourglass Hyaluronic Skin Tint which I stills holds a top shelf space for foundations. I feel the need to disclaim that even though I might find a foundation that is amazing I am always searching to discover new products. That is what we are set out to do here in these Covering Your Bases posts. 


Disclaimers & Intros aside lets get down to reviewing the foundation/CC cream.. 

There is quite a bit of hype surrounding the original IT Cosmetics CC Cream and I thought about picking up that one. However, the Illumination version was a more recent release and caught my attention just a little bit more. 

Packaging// Design 

I really like the packaging of this product. It looks like just a normal tube but when you take the cap off there is a pump at the end. ( Hooray for pumps!!) Tube packaging can be annoying as you reach the end of the product much like toothpaste you can never seem to get that last drop out!. Why can't toothpaste have pump like packaging? ( Wouldn't that be convenient?) 
The tube has a slightly pink/holographic tinge to it making it look pretty cute and distinguishable from the original CC cream and the type face they used for "illumination" is quite cute, makes it quite appealing to look at.

Color Range // 

I think one of the cons for this product is its color range. Its not very large, only five shades. I had a tough time picking out my ideal shade. Between Fair and Light I ended up going with Light because Fair seemed too pale at the time ( even though I have a complexion of a ghost).
Overall, I find the shade Light to be an okay match for me however I do not know if I am alone on this, but the color almost has a dull/grayish tone to it and not as bright as I would like it.  To remedy this I tend to mix it in with a drop or two of the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops ( I am in the shade G20)  to brighten and make the color suit my skin more which seems to do the trick.

Application // 

This CC cream applies very smoothly onto the skin. You do not need to pump out a lot for the entire face since it spreads out very nicely. 
Much like the Hourglass Skin Tint I am fond of this has a thicker looking consistency but feels very light and weightless on skin. I still prefer using the Beauty Blender ( as my weapon of choice) which blends this product seamlessly into skin and does not take great amounts of effort either. 

Coverage // 

The selling point for me personally for this product is its contrast of "type" and "result". Typically, a CC cream or a BB cream type of base will only provide a sheer amount of coverage rarely reaching a medium coverage. This CC cream stands out from whats on the market because it touts its truthful CC cream name by having a weightlessness texture and improving skin tone, but provides medium to full coverage. Which is amazing to me and I really do appreciate that from this foundation. I really like having a full coverage base when I wear makeup, but its nice to have it not feel like I have a very full coverage sitting on top of my skin. 

Overall Thoughts// 

I am really happy I tried out this CC cream. As I watch all my favorite British youtubers in my subscription feed lately I have been seeing all their US beauty hauls all containing the original It Cosmetics CC cream. Its a very hot item right now and its always exciting to me to actually see what all the hype is about. To recap I really love the packaging for this product. I think the way it was designed makes it really easy to travel with and use daily without much fuss. I also really like the very light lemon scent it has which some people may not like but it does not last once it sets down. I appreciate the high coverage and the very dewy finish that is unique to the "Illumination" version of this product. I have read some complaints of there being glitter in this product but I personally haven't really noticed any excess of glitter and even so I would still like it anyway ( bring on the glitter!). Also, the high SPF factor of 50 ( with UVA and UVB) protection is pretty fantastic of them provide. My only beef with this product is the color selection. I think its pretty slim and difficult because the shades differ very dramatically from each other. I thought the shade Fair would be the one for me but it was so extremely pale and stark. The shade Light, the one I chose, although pretty good has this weird gray/dull tone to it that leads me to mix it with another product to make it match perfectly. Overall, I give this product a B+ it would have gotten an A if not for the color selection. Other than that, I am very pleased with everything about this product and I would recommend it to those who were possibly thinking about giving it a try.

Covering Your Bases// Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint

Hello everyone, happy Tuesday & St Patricks Day for those who celebrate ( Erin Go Bragh)! I hope you are all having a great week so far. I just want to warn you all to be prepared for quite a tale leading up to this review. Have your tea ( or beverage of choice at the ready its probably gonna be a long one). That being said, I hope you enjoy. 

So its been a while since I last wrote a "Covering Your Bases" post. Ever since discovering the Becca Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme I had not tried out any new foundations. I thought, "Yes I have found the perfect foundation for me! A foundation that gives full coverage, wears well on the skin etc.." 
However, when this winter hit New England my skin went through hell, and my beloved Becca foundation was looking dry and flaky and was not holding up well on my skin at all. 

As you will read in a future post this dry skin issue was throughout. I was trying hydrating primers, moisturizers, etc to keep my skin hydrated and to prevent my foundation from clinging to dry patches. They helped a little but by the end of the day I was still looking pretty rough. 
Next- I was really curious about the launch of the new NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. I had read some reviews, some of them were raving and others were not a fan. I took a sample pot home and gave it a shot. The first day of wear I liked it, the shade I picked was not quite right but I went with it. It seemed to wear alright, still was looking a teeny bit dry at the end of the day, but I was feeling optimistic. I picked up another sample pot of it in the correct shade for my skin and wore it the following day at work. 
Within the 5 hour duration of my shift, my foundation took a turn for the worse. This foundation clung to dryness like crazy and had disintegrated on large portions of my face leaving me looking like a hot mess. After my shift I strolled over to Sephora, ( still conveniently located right across from work). I was racking my brain of moisturizing bases that would still give me decent coverage. I was looking at my "hot mess" face in the mirror contemplating, when one of the employees that I know greeted me. I showed them my woe and pleaded for some guidance. They handed me into the care of another employee who also deals with similar skin to mine to help me out. Instead of being given another sample, I was invited to come and have my foundation redone. We took everything off and started from scratch. 
First we tried the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation which I knew had great coverage and only guessed that it might have more moisture. Halfway through application, it was looking just as bad as the NARS Foundation. We took it all off and started again, next trying out her suggestion which was the Hourglass Hyaluronic Skin Tint. 
The name of this base is pretty misleading I think "Skin Tint" and I assume : " tinted moisturizer/BB cream hybrid with barely there coverage"  
However, this foundation packs a lot more punch than its name would suggest and the kicker was that it made my skin look healthy and DEWY! ( aka: NOT A DRY FLAKY MESS! whoo hoo!) I couldn't stop looking at my skin, it had been so long since my skin had not looked dry. I picked this guy up right away and might have even clicked my heels in joy leaving the store. 
( And my skin and I lived happily ever after. The End.) 

Just kidding! Now I have to give you guys a proper review. 

Packaging// Design 

Hourglass is kinda known for its sleek packaging and design. Always going for eye catching metallic packaging ( also known for pesky fingerprint marks). For this product they went with a shiny cap but a smooth, wide, lightweight tube making this easy to travel with. The nozzle inside is narrow enough to distribute product but not squeeze out too much. The wide cap is also nice because it will stand up on its own. My only gripe with tube packaging like this is when it starts to get low, it can be difficult to get product out. 

Color Range//

The Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint comes in 12 shades. On the Sephora website they all look pretty pale but in person this product tends to be a tiny bit darker. I believe based on trying out two of the shades on my skin that this range tends to cater more towards yellow undertones despite the description of the shades catering to pink, yellow and neutral undertones. If you were thinking about this foundation I would definitely have it applied on your skin or take home a sample or two of what you think matches you because its deceiving. My match was the shade "Vanilla" which is described as a very fair pink undertone even though I have a yellow undertone. The shade "Shell" which has a yellow undertone which would have been my guess for a perfect match was a bit too warm on my skin. 

Application//

This foundation has a thick consistency when squeezed out onto the back of the hand. However, it smooths on very lightly. This foundation definitely applies better with either fingers or a damp Beauty Blender. I tend to choose the Beauty Blender, dot the product on each area of the face and then blend. 

Coverage//

As I mentioned above, this foundation has more coverage than a name like "skin tint" would suggest. I would call this a buildable medium coverage base. I usually go for one layer on areas like my forehead and the under-eye area and then add a second layer where I require a bit more coverage like my cheeks and chin. I like to go in afterwards with my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and spot conceal. I really like the finished result, it is very dewy looking so if you are not so much into that look I would just dust a bit of powder on.

Overall Thoughts//

This foundation was formulated with Hyaluronic Acid. An ingredient that has been quite popular in the beauty community. Hyaluronic Acid is an ingredient that delivers mega hydration and firming of the skin. Which is why this foundation gives a hydrated and dewy looking finish. Another plus, is that this foundation has an UVA/UVB SPF 15 which will be nice as the weather gets warmer. It feels very smooth on the skin and lasts pretty much all day. Especially when used with primer/setting spray. The price for Hourglass is pretty steep. Retailing for $55 at Sephora. However, even though I have probably said this before a dozen times during a foundation review: If the product is really really good I will gladly pay every dime for it.

MON// Covering Your Bases Foundation Series / Becca Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme

Hello everybody! Happy Monday! I meant to see you sooner on Saturday. I had a new post all written up and ready to go but due to some technical issues I wasn't able to get it up for you all and I apologize for that. This morning, I drove all the way to my class to find out it was cancelled. At first I was frustrated because its a long commute to school and back but then it struck me, " I now have some time to sit down and blog! hooray!" After a quick coffee break, here I am to chat about a new base I am loving. This is a continuation of a post I did on the NARS Sheer Glow foundation which you can read my thoughts about here X. 
 Now that I work in a mall I am directly across from a Sephora. Which as you could assume is pretty dangerous for a beauty blogger/ makeup junkie. I am able to waltz in everyday and be tempted by pretty makeup. That is exactly what happened when I strolled into the store a couple weeks ago and saw that they had introduced the brand BECCA into the store. I just about squealed! After hearing so much about this brand I finally got to try it out first hand. The two products I was most intrigued by was their Shimmering Skin Perfectors and this, The Ultimate Complexion Creme Foundation. I took home a sample of this foundation and used it for about a week. After finishing it up and going back to NARS Sheer Glow, I was missing this foundation a lot and after another week I decided to pick it up and have been using it everyday since. 

Packaging // Design

If you read my review on NARS Sheer Glow you would know my mild irritation I have with its lack of a pump. It not only makes the bottle messy with time, but if you are not careful you end up pouring out way too much product onto the back of your hand, wasting precious foundation. There is a simple solution, NARS sells a separate pump but, after forking out the hefty amount of cash for that foundation I think it should just come with one.

The Becca foundation however, does come with a pump which I really missed. The rest of the packaging is pretty sleek with a long matte bottle. It is not glass, so it is travel friendly, but, you are not able to see how much product is left as you use it. Its a trade off, and I much prefer a pump so I am able to control how much I use. 

Color Range

This foundation has a bloody fantastic color range with 20 shades to choose from. There are shades for pink, yellow and neutral undertones. The color range goes from very pale to pretty dark. This product kinda accommodates for everyone. e chose the shade " Shell" which is described as "fair beige" with neutral undertones. Even though I have a slightly yellow undertone I find this shade works best for me personally. 

Application

So, this foundation reminded me a lot of MAC Studio Fix Foundation when I first applied it. It is a thicker consistency foundation and even smells similar! But the two are different. I am not a huge fan of Studio fix at all. The scent lingers on the skin far too long, the color range is not that great, especially for paler skin tones and lastly Studio Fix feels pretty heavy to me and breaks me out, bad. Like all my other foundations I apply it with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush and that works great. I am liking this foundation's application because it takes less time to buff into the skin and does not leave any brush marks. 

Coverage

This past month my skin has been very misbehaved and I have dealt with a lot of grief, pain and embarrassment with my hormonal cystic acne and the scars that they leave behind. NARS Sheer Glow has a medium buildable coverage which worked really, really well, especially in the summer when my skin wasn't "as" bad. It does cover well at the beginning of the day but, I was noticing that as the day pressed on NARS Sheer Glow wasn't holding up on my face as well and my acne was there to show that. One of the reasons I was intrigued by Becca's foundation is that it is marketed as full coverage and that is what I felt I needed. Now that I have it I can say that it lives up to its full coverage name. You don't need that much to cover your full face. It covers my spots fairly well ( cystic acne is very hard to cover up) and even more it covers up my scars fantastically. I feel like a totally better version of myself with this foundation. Not only that but it seems to last much longer on my skin. I can work a full shift at The Body Shop and my foundation holds up great, sometimes a little extra concealing is needed but, overall the coverage and texture of this foundation is dreamy indeed.  

Overall Thoughts 

This post seemed like a big comparison post but because this was a recent change of foundations I felt that was the most honest way of describing this foundation. I still stand by that NARS Sheer Glow is a beautiful foundation and I still love it but I think it suites me better as a summer/spring foundation when the weather is hotter and I won't be able to bear a thicker foundation on my face. Becca's Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme is great for these upcoming autumn and winter months. Its not matte but its certainly less glowy than NARS Sheer Glow and keeps me covered for busy days at school and work. The price of this foundation is $44 dollars which is still really pricey but you are getting a really great product that will last you a long time because you don't need to pump out that much for a full face. It has no harmful ingredients and the color range and coverage is lovely. I would highly recommend if you are in the market to try this foundation out.

T H U R S// Beauty Buys #1

Hello my dears, it's Thursday. My last day of the spring semester. I can now breathe a sigh of relief! Its been a trying school year. Somehow all the turmoil feels worth it when  summer arrives and the sun kisses your tired skin. 

In my last post I mentioned I was really liking a mini sample of Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation. I decided to bite the bullet and grab it. I do require a bit more coverage than this base provides but it's nothing a good concealer can't fix. I will probably write up a full post on it soon but the consensus is that I really enjoy it.

My other beauty buy recently is a creamy lip stain from the Sephora brand. In the shade -- Always Red. I was turned onto this because of lovely blogger, Amelia Liana of LianaBeauty.com

When I saw her wear this I thought it was really pretty. She then added that this product had really, REALLY great staying power. Claiming that she could eat a burger and the lipstick would still be perfectly intact. 

By then I was sold because red lipstick is so difficult to keep on the lips. After giving it a test run I would agree with Amelia's assessment. It stayed on my lips for the larger portion of the day and lasted through a meal of homemade stir-fry! (yum!)

This shade of red is bright and on the warmer side which makes it great for summer. The other plus about this product is that its really affordable! at $13

F O U N D A T I O N- R E V I E W : Tarte Amazonian Clay Mineral Foundation

Hello my dears, hope you are all well. Today I finally bring you another foundation review! Featuring: 

Tarte's Amazonian Clay Airbrush Mineral Foundation. 

A little while ago I picked this up during Sephora's 15% VIB sale. I was intrigued by all the rave reviews I had heard about it and wanted to try it out myself.

I don't tend to be a mineral foundation girl, they usually don't give me the right amount of coverage and usually the packaging gets to me. Having to use the plastic sifters 

(not getting enough product out or way too much and thus getting powder all over you. ugh.) I just have had bad luck with powder foundation however after some research I was read to give this guy a try. 

 Packaging/Design

   I wanted to highlight Tarte's impeccable    packaging on this product first and foremost because it addresses one of my biggest problems with loose mineral foundations. It  has a net sifter! When you push down with     your brush the product transfers on the brush.  The cover also has a stopper so product does not get out when you travel with it! The rest of the design is really pretty too with     Tarte's famous "bamboo look" and the container looks like frosted amber glass. Really sleek and down to earth. I like!

Color Range

I really like Tarte's color range for this product with 11 different shades to choose from with both pink + yellow + neautrel undertone choices.

Tarte has made it pretty easy to find your shade which most of us would find convenient. I am in the shade : fair honey ( fair skin with peach undertones) ( because I am a fair and pale lady!)

Application

  The application is simple but I was  persnickety about the brush that is supposed to be used with this product. The "airbuki"  kabuki brush. I thought I could get away using this foundation with my Real Techniques Buffing brush and I tested it out for a couple weeks. 

It worked okay, it didn't help me spread the powder evenly across my face. I wasn't convinced so eventually I caved and got the    "airbuki" which is the one that works better  of the two but it wasn't a drastic  difference. I might have lived without it but  hey, its also super cute. (Whaddya goin do?) 

Coverage

Alright, so as I was using this upon first application I made a very contemplative face while looking at the mirror. Unlike, my Sephora Airbrush Liquid base, this product does not make the face look flawless in the first few seconds you wear it. It might even leave you unimpressed. HOWEVER, when you have finished the rest of your makeup and you have let everything set in it starts looking better...then maybe a few hours later. It 

looks mighty impressive. I am not sure what 

kind of sorcery is in this but this product really does look better with wear! 

Finish

Besides the sorcery of looking better with wear the finish is just... natural!

 It just looks like skin when you put it on. Does not look powdery or "cakey" and I don't find it makes me too shiny. Along with that note this product does last relatively long on the skin. At least on my skin which is ( dry/combination skin) It just looks nice, nothing more to say about that. 

Price

And lastly comes the price of this baby. Which retails for $36.00. Right in the middle of the road I think. 

However, then you have to tack on the price of the brush which is $26 on it's own which is why I was kinda persnickety about it..( it feels like highway robbery.) 

When it comes down to it the foundation is very worth the price and the brush...maybe not. But, I will leave that to your own discretion.

Fancy Friday Findings! : February 7th

Good morning my dears! It's February now which means it's one month closer to spring! 

hooray! 

This week, I was infatuated with floral patterns.

Actually, most weeks I am in love with floral patterns but this Friday is no exception. 

The first little floral frock comes from dear ol' Modcloth.

The Retro Market Maven Dress 

I really like the navy color of this dress. It makes it a softer "dark floral" plus dresses like these are my personal favorite cut and length of dress.

This two tiered plant stand from Target's Threshold line is really neat!

They are so bloody gorgeous!

Back to fanciful frocks, I think this one is a bit more on the formal side compared to the above mentioned Modcloth dress.

This, classy number is from Ruche. 

I love the muted colors in this dress and that hunter green sash really takes it from a day dress to a evening dress.

I am still loving my Sephora Air Perfection Mist Foundation.

However, I have been bitten by the little NARS bug and I am very eager to try: NARS Sheer Glow Foundation.
It is a bit on the expensive side right now. I definitely want to get a tester before splurging that much on a foundation that does not even come with a pump!
( seriously, what is up with that.)

Product Review: Sephora Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation

Hello my dears.

Today, I have another product review.

The month of January has provided me with a lot of time and inspiration to try out new beauty products. Since I am spending a lot of time indoors researching and idling. Waiting patiently for warmer and happier weather. 

Since my haul not too long ago I picked up the new, Sephora Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation in the shade Fair. 

Since then, I have been able to give it a good test run. 

I think all people who wear foundation are always on this journey to find the "perfect foundation"

one that makes our already beautiful faces more enhanced with an: even skin tone, a face free of blemishes and signs of wear. A foundation that provides an inner glow and brightness for a entire day with no touch up or problems what so ever.

I will say that even if I do find the perfect, holy grail foundation for my skin. I will still always be on the curious search. There is always something new on the horizon. 

Anyhow, I found this foundation to be overall pretty great. 

Here is the detailed review~

The Finish: This foundation is an airbrush foundation which means you should be "magazine photo shoot ready after use" I find that to be reletively true. It feels very light on the skin after it sets and has a satin finish which I prefer.

The Coverage: This foundation has the possibility of making your skin look flawless! It is very build-able. If you want light coverage? No problem! Are you a full coverage kind of girl. This does that is well. 

Color Range: This range comes in five colors from Fair to Deep. My shade in Fair is a little on the yellow side which matches my skin very well. If your skin is pale but a bit more pink toned I would recommend you try out the next shade up in Light.

Application: Here, is where this foundation can get a bit tricky at first try. 

The instinct is to spray directly on the face an arms length away to get your entire face in one go. I am afraid that does not prove well unless you want this foundation all in your hair and maybe even your clothing. Next, I tried spraying some on my hand so that way I could then blend it in with my Real Techniques Stippling brush. Sadly, I was having a bit of a dumb moment and put the aerosol very close to my hand and ended up giving myself a tiny little burn. 

I do not recommend spraying this very close to your hand! but, a little farther away and it works a bit better. My method is to have the spray a medium length away from my face and spray small spots in different zones of my face and blend them away with my stippling brush. 

The Price: This foundation retails for $26.00 which I do not think is too bad compared to what you could be paying with similar products such as the Dior Airflash Foundation which is a whopping $62.00! (ouch! my wallet!)

However, I do see this foundation running out a little more quick than a proper liquid foundation.

Much like spray paint runs out much quicker than a tub of liquid paint.

 I have been using this foundation on a daily basis but I could also see someone using this product a little less often and saving the "Vouge magazine look" for special occasions.
